For grown-ups
Ants develop through complete metamorphosis: egg, larva, pupa and adult ant. In many species the pupa is wrapped in a silk cocoon. Workers feed the larvae mouth to mouth, and move the eggs and larvae to the chambers of the nest where the temperature and humidity are most suitable.
