Dragonflies are ancient insects: some of their ancestors lived before the dinosaurs, with a wingspan of up to 70 centimetres. A dragonfly larva can live in water for several years. Its big eyes are made of tens of thousands of tiny eyes, and it catches its prey in about 95 percent of attempts.
